DC1: Sustainable materials for efficient and long-lasting aqueous Zn-ion battery electrodes
The promotion of young researchers is a core element of the research strategy at UBremen, in fact since September 2022 UBremen holds the EU “HR Excellence in Research Award”. Moreover, UBremen provides an ideal interdisciplinary environment for outstanding research projects.

Develop and synthesize electrode materials that unlock the actual rechargeability of an aqueous Zn-ion battery (AZIB) in operational relevant working conditions, achieve high efficiencies at the negative electrode (anode), and high stability at the positive electrode (cathode). The expected results include the synthesis and optimization of electrode materials for both the anode and cathode (i.e. Prussian-blue analogues synthesis, funcionalization of zinc-based substrates, etc.) and the investigation of new insights in the compatibility and the crosstalk among the components of an AZIB cell.
